Oral Surgery

Any surgical treatment of the mouth or teeth is referred to as oral surgery. This term encompasses procedures performed by a qualified oral surgeon; including tooth extractions, bone grafting, and dental implants. One type of oral surgery is almost common for everyone, most notably in the teenage years when wisdom teeth require removal.  Another familiar oral surgery is a bone graft where bone from one part of the jaw is needed for a dental implantation. Dental implants provide a permanent surgical option when teeth are missing.
